A Brief History

Land surveying is the art of measuring both horizontal and vertical distances between points, angles between lines, direction of lines and of determination of location of points either on or near to the earth's surface.


The earliest surveys recorded were for establishing land boundaries. These types of land surveys are known as cadastral surveys and are still the important work of many surveyors.


R.G. Bennett Surveying Ltd. is a Cadastral Survey practice located in Brockville, Ontario and serving Eastern Ontario since 1993.


The objective of R.G. Bennett Surveying Ltd. is to follow "the golden rule" by treating both clients and co-workers with respect and honesty and to serve the public by providing the highest level of customer service, accuracy and integrity.


R.G. Bennett Surveying Ltd. is a member of the Association of Ontario Land Surveyors.


The Association regulates the practice of professional land surveying under the Surveyor's Act. Prior to becoming a member of the Association of Ontario Land Surveyors, surveyors are required to have a university education followed by a period of articles and finally, professional exams.

Graduated as a Senior Survey Technician from Loyalist College, Belleville, Ontario.

Grade point average 4.0. Received Carl Ward Award 1978-1979, Atkins Foundation Bursary 1977-1978 and was on the Dean's List 1977-1978 and 1978-1979.
